The firth issue went through a redesign. Seems as if it was worth the effort, as Der Greif was honored with the reddot Design Award and the ADC Junior Award Silver. Besides that, the submissions are coming from all over the world. The page number was increased again, Der Greif show photography and poetry now on 84 pages. Altogether, the works of 80 photographers and 14 authors are published in the fourth issue.

Spanning almost three decades, 'Moonshine' is a portrait of the American Appalachian folk, a mythologised region populated by ‘moonshiners’. Van Manen’s images are defined by a fierce intimacy with her subject, as the viewer teeters on the edge of the frame, perpetually trespassing on private moments: rollicking children practicing handstands on the couch. a kneeling daughter combing the hair of her grandmother.
Van Manen first visited the region in 1985, to the Appalachian areas of Kentucky, Tennessee and West Virginia, returning periodically up until 2013 to visit mining families with whom she lived: the Boggs family with their ten red-haired sons. miners Mavis and Junior. The intergenerational images subtly trace the insidious changes undergone by Appalachia – the slow and steady demise of the mining industry, and the migration of inhabitants from ramshackle wooden cabins to the city, or urban trailer parks. Van Manen intermixes black-and-white images with later colour work – another register of time passing and the inevitability of change.

El Naufraguito (dt. Schiffsbruch) ist 1989 entstanden und wurde von Mitgliedern des Künstlerkollektivs "Grup Taca" ins Leben gerufen. Seitdem gibt es über hundert Hefte, die in ihrer Aufmachung und in ihrem Inhalt als experimentell bezeichnet werden können. Die Künstler selbst nennen ihre Hefte Fanzines.

Der Fahrende Raum (Kultur & Spielraum e.V.) ist ein Kunstprojekt für kunstvermittlerisches und künstlerisches Handeln im städtischen Kontext. In einem aus wechselnden Aktionsräumen bestehenden Programm bespielt der Fahrende Raum zusammen mit Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen, sowie wechselnd eingeladenen Künstler*innen pro Jahr einen Stadtteil.
Im Aktionsraum CINÉVÉLOCITÉ – DIE FAHRRADFILMSTADT erkunden die Teilnehmerinnen mit filmischen Mitteln den Stadtteil Freimann. Im Fahrenden Raum wird gemeinsam mit der Filmemacherin Felicitas Sonvilla und dem Künstler Patrik Thomas an den Entwürfen eines Kinosaals gearbeitet, der sich den Herausforderungen der Gegenwart stellt: Wie kann das Kino ein politischer Verhandlungsraum sein, in dem mit verschiedenartigen Distanzen gearbeitet wird? Wie können diese Distanzen überbrückt und solidarische Gemeinschaft hergestellt werden? Ein mobiles Fahrradkino durchquert gleichzeitig den Stadtteil und präsentiert ein Filmprogramm, das die Themenkomplexe Mobilität, Stadtgeschichte und Umwelt umfasst.
